FOWT 2017 - Overview

Marseilles, the Mediterranean region and more widely France itself confirmed its position as the leader in floating offshore wind turbines with an audience of 550 specialists from 18 different nations.

The 4th edition of FOWT firmly established itself as the reference event in the sector with 40% international participants and presentations from the sectors greatest experts1; the organisers were obliged to close registration as all places were rapidly filled.

The quality of participants from Japan, Norway, the Netherlands, the United States, China and thirteen other countries consolidates FOWT’s global dimension. In order to understand the multiple challenges associated with the emergence and future industrialisation of offshore wind energy in France and around the world, 43 specialists (twice as many as the previous edition) shared their experiences, latest research and technical advances in various key areas: financing, insurance, zoning, regulatory framework, environmental impact, technological innovations, etc...

FOWT 2017 has also added a new dimension: business meetings – these were an immediate success with more than 600 "Meet the buyers" being held and organised with the support of Enterprise Europe Network France Méditerranée. Contractors and business leaders were able to expand their sourcing, develop their expertise, innovations and products as well as identify future international partners.

The next edition of FOWT will take place 25 and 26 April 2018, by the Mediterranean!
